Don’t Panic. It’s Daylight Savings

Daylight Savings has got me all screwed up.

Yesterday I was constantly panicking.  Panicking that I woke up too late.  Panicking that I was late for job number one.  Panicking that I was going by the only clock in my apartment that hadn’t been switched.  (It had)

I ended up laughing a lot at myself.  And being extremely thankful that my phone just automatically knows what time it is.

I just realized I’m still going to have to change my watch.  Which is probably still on East Coast time anyway.  I have no idea what time it is right now.

The best part about daylight savings was that Brad stayed up just a little extra to see me Saturday night after I got off work.  On the weekends, Brad goes in to work at 7am.  And on the weekends, I got into work round 6pm.  So… we are basically exact opposites and only end up seeing each other while the other is sleeping.  Or I wake him up on the couch when I get home and send him to bed while I stay up and eat leftover Halloween candy.

Lately when he’s been leaving at 6:30am, it’s still been dark out.  So yesterday, it made me happy that when he kissed me goodbye and I opened my eyes just a tiny sliver, there was a little bit of sunshine.

I can’t say the same for my workday.  You’d probably imagine, it was the exact opposite.  As I drove from one job to the next (more on that some other day), the sun was almost set.  There’s nothing that makes you feel more like a vampire than starting your day as the sun is going down.

Don’t panic.  We will all get through this together.  (well, not Arizona, I guess)

xoxo
